Tracking Dog: Successful completion of tracking tests 1 – 3

Tracking Dog Excellent: Successful completion of tracking tests 4 – 6

Tracking Champion: Successful completion of tracking tests 7 – 8

 

TRACKING TEST 1 – TRACKING A KNOWN PERSON

Length of track: Approximately 400 metres

Changes of direction: Two

Articles on track: One

Minimum time for commencement of track: 20 minutes

 

TRACKING TEST 2 – TRACKING A KNOWN PERSON

Length of track: Approximately 800 metres

Changes of direction: Minimum of two

Articles on track: Two. Dog to indicate at least one

Minimum time for commencement of track: 30 minutes

 

TRACKING TEST 3 – TRACKING AN UNKNOWN PERSON

Length of track: Approximately 800 metres

Changes of direction: Minimum of two

Articles on track: Two. Dog to indicate at least one

Minimum time for commencement of track: 30 minutes

 

TRACKING TEST 4 – TRACKING AN UNKNOWN PERSON

Length of track: Approximately 1000 metres

Changes of direction: Minimum of four

Articles on track: Three. Dog must indicate at least two

Minimum time for commencement of track: 60 minutes

 

TRACKING TEST 5 – TRACKING AN UNKNOWN PERSON

Length of track: Approximately 1000 metres

Changes of direction: Minimum of four

Articles on track: Three. Dog must indicate at least two

Cross tracks: Track must be crossed twice by one or two unknown persons

Minimum time for commencement of track: 60 minutes

 

TRACKING TEST 6 – TRACKING AN UNKNOWN PERSON

Length of track: Approximately 1200 metres

Changes of direction: Five turns one of which must be an acute angle

Articles on track: Three. Dog must indicate at least two

Cross tracks: Track must be crossed twice by one or two unknown persons

Minimum time for commencement of track: 60 minutes

 

TRACKING TEST 7 – TRACKING AN UNKNOWN PERSON

Length of track: Approximately 1200 metres

Start: Blind Start

Changes of direction: Six turns two of which must be an acute angle

Articles on track: Three. Dog must indicate at least two

Cross tracks: Track must be crossed twice by one or two unknown persons

Minimum time for commencement of track: 90 minutes

 

TRACKING TEST 8 – TRACKING AN UNKNOWN PERSON

Length of track: Approximately 1200 metres

Start: Blind Start

Changes of direction: Six turns two of which must be an acute angle

Articles on track: Three. Dog must indicate at least two

Cross tracks: Track must be crossed twice by one or two unknown persons

Minimum time for commencement of track: 90 minutes
